A Nashville jury has returned a verdict of guilty on all eleven counts against 26-year-old Deandre Conway, in connection with a double homicide that shook the local community. The verdict arrived Thursday evening for the crimes dating back to October 2022. According to the office of the Davidson County District Attorney, Conway was convicted of the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Terry Farmer during a dispute at a Madison area apartment complex, followed by the death of 17-year-old Landen Guye after Conway struck Guye's vehicle while fleeing the scene.
After fleeing the initial scene in a Chevrolet pickup, Conway collided with a Toyota Rav 4, causing injuries to several other young occupants besides Guye. Following the accident, Conway continued to flee on foot but was ultimately captured by Metro Police TITANS detectives in the Hendersonville area. During the trial, which spanned over four emotional days, prosecutors brought forward more than two dozen witnesses, including family members of the victims. As reported, after three hours of deliberation, the jury found Conway guilty of offences ranging from Second Degree Murder and Reckless Vehicular Homicide to multiple counts of Reckless Aggravated Assault.
The conviction could place Conway behind bars for more than 60 years if his sentences are served consecutively, as is a possibility pending the upcoming sentencing. The legal proceedings, which have drawn considerable attention due to the nature of the crimes and the young ages of the victims, will continue with sentencing scheduled for August 20th. The hearing is set before Criminal Court Judge Mark Fishburn, as confirmed by the District Attorney's announcement.
