Westbound and eastbound lanes of US 90 at the Danziger Bridge in Orleans Parish will be fully closed, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). The closure will start on Saturday, June 14 at 6:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end on Sunday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m.
The closure is for roadwork involving the testing of new gate arms to maintain the bridge’s safety and functionality. The timeline is subject to change based on weather conditions, according to the DOTD announcement.
During this time, all vehicles on this section of US 90 will be required to use alternative routes. Traffic will be redirected primarily to I-10 as the main detour. Drivers are advised to plan accordingly for possible delays or consider other alternate routes to avoid slowdowns caused by the closures.
