The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, in the Fifth District. Around 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a call from the 2400 block of Pauger Street and found that a 26-year-old man had been shot. He was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The victim, whose identity has not been released pending family notification by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation as detectives work to gather evidence and identify any suspects. No other injuries were reported, as stated by the New Orleans Police Department.
