
The New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that took place in the quiet expanse of Lake Catherine. A report by WWLTV indicated that the victim, an adult male, was found with fatal stab wounds yesterday in the 21000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Upon arrival at the scene, the NOPD discovered the body of the victim, who, police officers confirmed, was dead after suffering multiple stab wounds. Initially confused in the chaos of the crime scene unfolding, WDSU reported an initial update from authorities that misidentified the victim as a woman, which was later clarified to be a man.
The incident, which sent ripples of concern through the neighboring area, occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Police were dispatched to the location shortly after, but the man was pronounced dead by the time they arrived.
Details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the stabbing are still under investigation, with the New Orleans Police Department making no immediate arrests.
