Two firefighters were hospitalized and one more evaluated after a large house fire broke out at 3 Main St. in Norfolk, Massachusetts, this morning. According to NBC Boston, the fire, reported around 9:40 a.m., prompted a multi-town response, with approximately a dozen fire departments assisting at the scene.

Firefighters from Walpole and Millis were transported to the hospital for heat exhaustion, while another firefighter was assessed at the scene. The fire caused about 90% of the home’s roof to collapse. The house, a 3,200-square-foot single-family residence built in 2004, was unoccupied at the time, and no other injuries were reported.

A passerby initially spotted heavy flames coming from the back of the home. The Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, part of the State Fire Marshal's Office, is investigating the cause of the fire, WCVB reports. A stretch of Main Street, from Clark Street to the Walpole town line, was closed during the emergency response.

To assist the firefighters, a rehab unit was brought in to provide cooling, food, and rest.
