
Another tragic incident has shaken the community as Oklahoma City police reported the city's 32nd homicide of the year. On the morning of June 15, 2024, officers responded to a call of domestic disturbance in the 3000 block of SW 139th St., where they discovered the body of Larry James Gamble Jr., confirmed dead from a gunshot wound. According to a bulletin by the Oklahoma City Police Department, the shooting occurred shortly after midnight, and an altercation is alleged to have preceded the violent act.
At the time of the shooting, interviewed at the scene, all involved parties, including the shooter, were released. Officials have stated that the case will be pending review by the Cleveland County District Attorney's office. Released pending further investigation, the incident has sparked an outpour of concern from the community, which is grappling with the rising homicide rates of the year.
