
A fatal crash early this morning at the intersection of Jackson and Wales avenues in Memphis left one man dead and another critically injured. According to the Memphis Police Department, one victim died at the scene, while the other was transported to Regional One Health in critical condition, as reported by Action News 5.
The incident occurred before the rise of the sun, just before 1 a.m. Memphis Police arrived to find the aftermath of what witnesses described as a severe impact between a truck and a car. According to FOX13, one vehicle was heading northbound and the other was moving to go eastbound with the light in their favor when the collision occurred due to one driver disregarding a red light.
As daylight came, WV News reported that the condition of the hospitalized individual, who was rushed to a hospital after the crash, was unknown at the time. The details of their injuries remained a matter still cocooned in the folds of privacy and medical assessment.
Memphis Police, who are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash, have not yet released the identities of those involved.
