The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken 19-year-old Elohim Hill into custody on multiple criminal charges, including murder, connected to the death of Bridgett Powell, 54, with both individuals hailing from Pine Mountain, Harris County. Official sources report that after discovering human remains in a burned home, Hill faced initial charges but was subsequently booked for more severe counts after an autopsy identified the victim.
An announcement by the GBI clarified that on June 13, a joint inquiry was launched by the Pine Mountain Police, the GBI, and the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire's Office into what appeared to be arson-related death. Dead inside the home, which the authorities and the fire department responded to finding it engulfed in flames, an unidentified individual was found, which was Powell later identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Initially in custody for concealing a death, Hill’s relationship to Powell was uncovered after further investigation, revealing a familial bond. This discovery led to Hill’s re-arrest and additional charges, including murder, last Friday, as law enforcement continued to piece together the events leading to the sinister outcome
