The suspected bank robber left the scene at 1306 SW Gatlin Blvd. at an unknown time yesterday afternoon, as reported by CBS12 News. The suspect, whose image has been circulated by the police, is described as wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a distinctive red shirt with white sleeves.
Officials have stated that the woman approached a bank teller, placing her purse on the counter before handing over a note claiming she was armed. Although it is not known how much money was taken, Police Chief Leo Niemczyk confirmed to CBS12 News that it was "not a large amount of money." After the incident, she fled the scene on foot. Investigations are currently underway, with police canvassing for video in the vicinity and following up on leads related to the suspect's potential mode of transportation.
Meanwhile, WPBF reports a heavy police presence in the area following the incident. The suspect has been described in slightly different terms as a Black woman, donning a maroon and white colored shirt, a multicolored hat with a silver logo, sunglasses, and a white purse. The details surrounding the suspect's alleged weapon have not been disclosed, but authorities from the Port St. Lucie Police Department suggest she may be armed and are advising the public to exercise caution.
