A swift response by the Santa Clara County Fire Department has averted what could have been a more severe wildfire situation in Los Altos Hills. Firefighters were dispatched to a vegetation fire at approximately 3:31 PM yesterday, near the 27000 block of Roble Blanco Court, according to a social media post by the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
Initially, the incident involved one acre of land and threatened surrounding structures, and was controlled within just over half an hour. "Crews first arriving on scene reported a vegetation fire in light flashy fuels with structures threatened estimated at 1 acre in size," the Santa Clara County Fire Department stated. An outbuilding succumbed to the blaze, yet no other structures sustained damage thanks to the swift action.
Support came through collaborations with neighboring services, exemplifying the community's unified approach toward disaster response. "We’d like to thank Palo Alto Fire Department for assisting with fire attack, and Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office for assisting with traffic control," the Santa Clara County Fire Department shared in their post. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, ensuring that lessons may be learned and future hazards mitigated.
