Following a road rage incident in Campbell, a 62-year-old man was arrested after reportedly brandishing a machete in a Home Depot parking lot. According to the City of Campbell Police Department, Aaron Vanotten of San Jose was apprehended with the assistance of real-time video technology and a drone.

The confrontation occurred on May 2 around 10:00 AM on E. Hamilton Avenue. After the incident, the Campbell Police quickly used their Real Time Information Center (RTIC) to locate Vanotten's vehicle using camera footage from Fusus. A Drone as First Responder (DFR) unit found the suspect's vehicle in a nearby parking lot. "The combined efforts of the DFR program and RTIC provided officers with real-time situational awareness," the City of Campbell Police Department stated, which allowed a safe and efficient high-risk vehicle stop.

During Aaron Vanotten's arrest, police recovered the machete that the victim had described. A records check revealed a history of prior arrests and criminal citations, including possession of controlled substances and receipt of stolen property.
