The City of Sandy Springs is now accepting applications for the 2025–26 Citizens’ Leadership Academy. The program is designed to help residents learn how local government operates. Applications are open through June 30 and can be submitted via the city’s online portal, according to the City of Sandy Springs’ official website.
The Citizens’ Leadership Academy includes a series of sessions held at municipal facilities such as the Sandy Springs Police Headquarters and the Municipal Court Complex. This will be the program's third year. Class size is limited to 30 participants, and a $35 fee is required upon acceptance.
Participants will attend 11 sessions covering topics like City Management and Emergency Management. The program offers residents the chance to meet with city officials, including the Mayor and City Council, and learn about the functions of local government.
Graduates of the program will be recognized during a City Council meeting in the spring. Those with questions or interest are encouraged to visit the City of Sandy Springs’ website for more details.
