Investigations are still underway after a serious multi-vehicle crash occurred in Cokato, Wright County, per the Wright County Sheriff's Office. The collision, which involved four vehicles, happened near the intersection of CSAH 3 SW and 30th Street SW on Sunday afternoon.
According to a statement from the Wright County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched at 2:51 p.m. to the distressing scene. With vehicles in disarray, a 2011 Ford F150 with substantial front-end damage was found, bearing a 17-year-old male from Cokato at its wheel, who, facing northbound in the middle of the road, sustained serious injuries. He was promptly transported for medical care.
Also involved was a 2014 GMC Acadia, driven by Erin Holker, a 40-year-old from Dassel, which was discovered in a southbound orientation and equally suffered significant front-end damage. Holker, along with a 13-year-old female passenger, incurred severe injuries and received urgent transport to the hospital. Meanwhile, a 2024 Ford Escape was located off to the side, south of the intersection, lying on its side with both occupants—the driver, Lowell Peterson, a 92-year-old from Blaine, and Susan Peterson, a 70-year-old passenger from Blaine—obtaining injuries and sent to the hospital.
Lastly, the scene was rounded out by a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, slightly damaged on the driver's side, which Jacob Aho, a 35-year-old from Cokato, uninjured during the crash, sat idly. In the controlled chaos, multiple emergency services were on-site to aid, including Allina Ambulance, Cokato Ambulance, the Cokato Fire Department, Howard Lake Ambulance, the Howard Lake Fire Department, and Life Link Air Ambulance."
The Wright County Sheriff's Office notes that case number 25016984 is still under further scrutiny as they unpick the events which led to this juncture. As families and the local community begin the process of recovery and search for answers, officials urge patience during what promises to be an exhaustive investigative effort.
