The Shelby County Fire Department is bolstering its ranks by advancing three communications specialists to a new leadership role within the department. Fire Chief Benson took to social media to announce the promotion of Michelle Staten, Cicely Banks, and Courtney Jamison to the position of Shelby County Fire Department Dispatcher Lead. The Shelby County Fire Department posted, "So, let’s all have a round of applause please for Michelle Staten, Cicely Banks and Courtney Jamison."
These positions served as intermediaries between dispatchers and supervisors, responding to the department's climbing call volumes and workloads. Supervisors are expected to see an uptick in efficiency as these Dispatch Leads undertake various responsibilities previously shouldered by them exclusively. Staten, Banks, and Jamison collectively bring forth a wealth of experience, from Staten's twelve years, Banks' joining in 2017, and Jamison's starting her tenure in 2020.
The Shelby County Fire Department expressed immense pride in their dedication and team spirit, hailing the trio as necessary assets for the Fire Alarm Office's future successes. "Everyone is so proud of their dedication and camaraderie and has every confidence that they will be the very asset needed in our Fire Alarm Office for a long time now," the official Facebook post read.
