Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating 35-year-old Shanda Norton, who is suspected of stealing a vehicle from a parking lot in the 2300 block of Paris Road. The car theft also involved the owner's dog, which was inside the vehicle at the time, the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office reported.

The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. yesterday, when authorities responded to a report of a stolen silver 2018 Toyota Camry. Through coordinated efforts by the Field Operations Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Bureau, investigators were able to quickly identify Norton as the suspect. However, both Norton and the dog remain unlocated. The missing dog is described as a 17-year-old white Toy Poodle, weighing between 6 and 8 pounds.

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information that could possibly lead to Norton's apprehension or the safe return of Fannie Mae to come forward. They can be contacted at (504) 271-2501, or tips can be anonymously submitted to Crimestoppers GNO at (504) 822-1111.
