The NWS St. Louis update also notes that this brief spell of rain will give way to mostly clear skies tonight, with lows around 58 degrees.
As we look towards Tuesday, the city is set to bask under sunny conditions, with temperatures climbing to the vicinity of 83 degrees. However, come Wednesday, mercury is expected to notch up a bit higher, signaling a warm and clear day with a high near 88 degrees. "Sunny, with a high near 83," announces the forecast for Tuesday, suggesting a calm start to the midweek, as per the NWS.
The latter half of the week continues this warm trend, Thursday maintaining mostly sunny skies and a high of 87 degrees, but introduces a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms post-midnight. The forecast, keeping in line with the pattern, predicts an increase in the likelihood of rain towards the end of the week. "A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms," Friday's forecast reads, coupled with predominantly cloudy conditions and highs peaking around 86 degrees, according to the NWS forecast.
Heading into the weekend, the city faces a more definitive risk of precipitation. "Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm," the NWS warns for Saturday, casting a 70 percent chance of precipitation over the area, with cloudy weather persisting and highs expected to be near 85 degrees. Thunderstorms are set to loom over the weekend nights as well, with a steadfast 40 percent chance indicated for both Friday and Saturday nights.
Sunday, however, doesn't seem to break the trend, as it comes bundled with a 50 percent chance of more showers and thunderstorms. St. Louis citizens will have to tread through mostly cloudy conditions one more time, with the daytime high anticipated to reach the mid-80s yet again.
