Last Thursday, an unexpected blaze disrupted the usual tranquility of Highway 84 near the Monterey city limits: a pickup truck caught fire, prompting a swift response from local firefighters. In a cooperative effort characterized by efficiency, both the Putnam County Fire Department (PCFD) and the Monterey Fire Department stepped up to counter the flames. Information about the incident was shared in a social media post by the Putnam County Fire Department, marking their online presence as not just a point of reference but as a journal of the frontlines.
With initial uncertainty surrounding which jurisdiction was responsible for the area of the incident, both departments displayed commendable readiness and collaboration. "A quick knockdown and extinguishment was achieved - 2 members from each department worked the incident," the Putnam County Fire Department disclosed on Facebook. Such joint action not only quelled the fire but also stood testament to the unwavering resolve shared by our first responders, even in the face of jurisdictional ambiguities.
No injuries were reported, a fact indeed worth our collective sigh of relief.
