A 27-year-old man was injured in a late-night shooting on East Britannia Street in Taunton. According to a statement from the Taunton Police Department, officers responded to the incident around 10:56 p.m. yesterday. The victim later arrived at Morton Hospital with a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening.
The Taunton Police Detective Division is investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Authorities currently believe the incident to be isolated and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
No suspects have been identified at this time. The police are urging anyone with information to contact the department to assist with the investigation.
