An 18-year-old man from South Dartmouth, identified as Nikoles Joseph, died in a car crash on Sunday evening. According to Boston.com, Dartmouth police and EMS responded to a call at around 9 p.m. about a serious accident on Russells Mills Road. A silver Hyundai Sonata had crashed into a telephone pole, with the driver's door left open.
Joseph was found pinned between the vehicle and the pole and was pronounced dead at the scene by Dartmouth EMS, according to a statement from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no charges are expected at this time.
WCVB reported the crash took place near 244 Russells Mills Road. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking the pole.
