Early this morning, a 16-year-old was shot near 101 Broadway Road in Dracut, Massachusetts, prompting an investigation by local authorities. According to the Dracut Police Department's Facebook post, officers responded around 4:30 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire and suspicious activity.
At the scene, police found evidence of gunfire in a parking lot. The teen, who had been shot in the leg, was later taken to Lowell General Hospital/Main Campus by friends. The injury was not life-threatening.
Police Chief Peter Bartlett confirmed that it is currently unknown whether those involved knew each other. The Dracut Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact Dracut Police detectives at 978-957-2123. The investigation remains ongoing.
