
A collision on Pellicano Drive led to significant traffic disruptions Monday after a vehicle collided with an electric pole, prompting road closures and repair work that is expected to continue for several hours. El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte provided an update via social media, advising residents and commuters to steer clear of the affected area.
The incident, which took place in the 12800 block of Pellicano Drive, has resulted in a shutdown of the thoroughfare from the 13100 block to Mission Ridge. According to El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, "A vehicle has struck an electric pole in the 12800 block of Pellicano Drive. El Paso Electric is anticipating repairs will take approximately 6 hours." Drivers have been encouraged to find alternate routes as the usual flow of traffic is interrupted to allow repair crews to safely work on restoring the damaged infrastructure.
El Paso Electric has been promptly engaged to address the situation and estimates that power restoration efforts will likely span a six-hour window.
