
A tragic accident occurred in Perry Park when an 80-year-old woman lost her life and another woman was seriously injured after a large tree branch fell on them. The Perry Police Department reported the incident took place just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, stating that officers found the woman after the branch had fallen, as detailed by FOX 13.
Upon arriving at Perry Park, located at 2450 S. 900 W., officers and paramedics found the two victims and provided immediate assistance. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the 80-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The 28-year-old woman, on the other hand, was transported to Brigham City Community Hospital with severe injuries, as reported by KUTV.
As of Thursday morning, the condition of the younger woman remains unknown. The local community has been deeply affected by the sudden and tragic accident. "Our community as a whole is heartbroken over the tragic and sudden loss of life," Perry City Chief of Police Scott Hancey expressed. He continued, "Our thoughts are with the family of those involved and are grieving with them," as obtained by ABC4.
