
A 24-year-old man is recuperating after a shooting incident while inside his home in southwest Atlanta, police have reported. The shooting, which took place on the 1300 block of Donnelly Avenue SW, occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, authorities arrived at the scene to find the young man with a gunshot wound to his right arm.
Details surrounding the incident remain scarce, with police still working to unearth motives and whether the act was intentional or random. Medics quickly transported the victim to a local hospital where he is expected to make a recovery, officials say.
Almost simultaneously, in a potentially related occurrence, the Atlanta News First reported a man injured by gunfire at 1380 Donnelly Ave. NW, around 10:40 p.m. on the same night. Police found another 24-year-old man, also suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm, and described him as “alert, conscious, breathing and was transported to the hospital for treatment."
Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit were called to both scenes to determine the nature of these shootings. It remains unclear if there's any connection between the two incidents. The names of both victims have not been released, and the authorities are urging anyone who may have information regarding these incidents to come forward and assist in their investigations.
