As reported by WCVB, the children, between 10 and 12 years old, made a wide, left turn into traffic and collided with the oncoming vehicle. One youth was actively pedaling, the other took perch on pegs behind them. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was not charged or cited in relation to the incident, police said. Despite the alarming nature of the event, authorities described their injuries as minor, with one child possibly suffering a broken or fractured wrist and another sustaining a leg injury.
Both children were promptly transported to local hospitals following the accident. One was taken to Boston Children's Hospital and the other to Massachusetts General Hospital. Police suggested the hospitalizations were largely precautionary, indicating that fortunately, no significant injuries were reported.
