Two people were shot at a house party in Enid on Sunday morning, with one victim now in critical condition at an Oklahoma City hospital. The Enid Police Department told KOCO 5 that the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. on the west side of town. A man, identified by the police as the boyfriend of a party attendee, arrived at the scene upset and began to shoot, injuring two individuals.
The situation further escalated when one of the victims had to be quickly flown to OU Health for urgent medical care. Enid News reported the victim's status as critical, while the other injured party was treated at a local hospital in Enid. According to the reports obtained by Enid News, "One victim, a female, was treated at an Enid hospital," and "The other, a male, was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he was in critical condition as of 12:45 p.m. Sunday."
Following the incident, the suspect willingly turned himself in to the authorities. He has been arrested on two counts of shooting with intent to kill. Matt Hainley stated in an interview with Enid News, "The ex-boyfriend of someone at the party showed up, and there was an argument. He then opened fire, hitting the two people."
