Over the weekend, a shooting incident shook the community near 2460 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW in Atlanta. According to the Atlanta Police Department, at approximately 11:30 p.m. last Saturday, officers from Zone 4 rushed to the scene after receiving reports of person shot.
On arrival, they found a 22-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital and reported in stable condition. A secondary victim, a 41-year-old woman, was discovered with what appeared to be a minor graze wound. Medical personnel attended to her at the scene, and she was released without need for further treatment.
The early stages of the investigation suggest that the male victim was standing outside the location when an unknown assailant approached and the two exchanged gunfire. Detectives are currently working to untangle the details of the confrontation and what led up to it. No arrests have been made as the investigation remains active.
