Two individuals were wounded during an officer-involved shooting late Monday night at a Lower Valley manufacturing facility in El Paso, authorities say. According to KTSM, the incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on the 7300 block of Stiles Drive following reports of a subject with a gun on the premises.
El Paso Police Department's Sergeant Robert Gomez informed KFOX-TV that upon arriving, officers made contact with an armed individual, resulting in an exchange of gunfire where the suspect was shot. "We expect the scene to be closed most of the day as they investigate. Like I said, it's a manufacturing facility and there are a large number of witnesses. Stiles should be closed the majority of the day," Sergeant Gomez stated.
Involved in the incident was a 46-year-old man who, KVIA highlights, is the manager of the facility and was also shot, although not by police. The circumstances around his injury were not made immediately clear. Both the manager and the suspect were transported to the hospital in stable but critical condition.
