Violence erupted last Saturday at 2528 Fairway Circle SW, leaving two attendees of a local event with serious stab wounds to their heads and faces. Atlanta Police responded to the scene at approximately 1:58 AM, where they found a 34-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man both injured, but alert and capable of speaking. The victims were quickly transported to the hospital to receive medical treatment for their apparent stab wounds. According to a statement from the Atlanta Police Department, the two individuals had previously attended an event at 1700 Lakewood Avenue SE, where a verbal altercation with an unidentified suspect escalated to physical violence.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Response Team were called to take over the investigation, working to untangle the events that led to the stabbing. Witnesses suggest the dispute began at the earlier gathering, but details regarding the motivations behind the altercation or the identity of the assailants remain scarce.
