Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting on Mud Island. According to Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department reported that the incident took place on Monday last week during an attempted vehicle theft, which left one victim critically injured.
Police say three men in a red Chevrolet Silverado cut off the victim, attempted to steal his vehicle, and then shot him before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. The Silverado used in the crime had been reported stolen earlier that day from the 1500 block of Monroe, Action News 5 reported.
FOX13 Memphis reported that on Tuesday kast week, officers located the stolen Silverado on East Holmes Road. The vehicle was secured by police, and further investigation — in coordination with DeSoto County investigators — led to the arrests of two suspects.
