UC Davis Health and the City of Sacramento’s Office of Nighttime Economy are offering a free "Stop the Bleed" training for the local hospitality and nighttime business community. The session will take place on Thursday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at 300 Richards Blvd., Room 221. Free parking is available. Space is limited, and those interested can email [email protected] to reserve a spot, according to the City of Sacramento.

A training session led by UC Davis Health will teach participants how to respond to severe bleeding. The session will cover techniques such as applying tourniquets, packing wounds, and using direct pressure. These skills are intended to help during emergencies when medical services may be limited. Trauma nurse practitioners and physicians will lead the training, as reported by the City of Sacramento.

The City of Sacramento offers Stop the Bleed sessions and quarterly safety trainings through the Office of Nighttime Economy. These trainings include participation from Code Compliance, Sacramento Police, and Sacramento Fire, and are designed to help nighttime businesses operate safely. Nighttime Economy Manager Tina Lee-Vogt said, “It’s important that people in Sacramento feel equipped to act in an emergency,” and added, “The training supports our broader efforts to build a community that’s not only prepared but confident when facing critical moments.”
