Drivers in Calcasieu Parish should expect lane closures on Interstate 10 near the Hamptons Coulee Bridge this weekend. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said the closures are for the installation of sheet pile as part of bridge work.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will close the left lanes of I-10 Eastbound and Westbound at the Hamptons Coulee Bridge (Mile Marker 9) from 8 p.m. on Friday, to 9 a.m. on Saturday, and again from 8 p.m. on Saturday to noon on Sunday. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said, "DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment." Residents are also advised to be careful when walking or biking near the construction zone.
Roadwork is currently underway to repair and improve the bridge infrastructure. Crews are working overnight to complete the necessary construction. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly. Temporary changes to travel patterns are in place to support the work, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
