Utah's Governor Spencer J. Cox has a busy schedule heading into the holiday weekend, starting this Monday with a Republican Governors Association (RGA) Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. in Oklahoma City, followed by a welcome address by Oklahoma Governor Stitt, and even squeezing in an early round of golf at Oak Tree National, Edmond, OK, according to Utah Governor's Office.
The week ahead will see the governor back in Utah for a series of meetings, he's set to confer with Senior Advisor for Legislative Affairs and Policy Neil Abercrombie, punctuated by the America250 Utah Kickoff event at the Utah Capitol which is open to the media, and culminating in him acknowledging the Utah Dept. of Commerce's Employee of the Month Madison Anderson, before diving into Third District Court Judicial Interviews.
Amid the string of engagements, Governor Cox will engage with environmental topics in a virtual meeting with Utah's Public Lands Policy and Coordinating Office Director Redge Johnson, followed closely by a sit-down with Utah Department of Environmental Quality Director Tim Davis. This is indicative of an administration paying heed to the salient discourse of conservation and sustainable governance.
Lt. Gov. Deidre M. Henderson, mirroring the governor's absence of public meetings on selected days, shares the spotlight for the America250 Utah Kickoff but will otherwise focus on matters internal to the state capitol, her commitment to electoral integrity and administrative duties made visible by her Election and Administrative Directors meeting planned for Tuesday, as the state braces for the quintessential American celebration of independence, a restful Fourth of July sees both the governor's and lieutenant governor's offices closed, following a conscientious prelude of policy and public service.
