Confronting the ongoing issue of domestic and sexual violence, Utah State University, in partnership with CAPSA, hosted its annual Northern Utah Conference to End Violence, bringing together more than 300 community members to discuss and collaborate on ways to combat these issues, as reported by USU Today.
The one-day event, which took place at the Riverwoods Conference Center on June 4, featured a series of discussions, training sessions and the offering of continuing education credits to professionals in the field, these credits recognized by the National Association of Social Workers and fulfillable towards annual training requirements for law enforcement in Utah; the conference's activities are poised to strengthen and build safer communities through shared expertise and resources.
Under the theme "A Call for Collaborative Leadership," the NUCEV highlighted the importance of cross-sector partnerships with breakout sessions tailored around legislative updates on domestic violence, the intersection of substance use and abuse, ethical issues in justice systems, and digital stalking, aiming to optimize outcomes for survivors by fostering integrated support structures.
