An early morning break-in at Pinebrook Country Club has resulted in a significant loss and culminated in the arrest of a 54-year-old man. The Weston Police Department - MA took to social media to provide details on the incident, which occurred on May 14 when officers responded to an activated burglary alarm at the country club.
Upon inspection, police found a damaged door and unsettled items at the pro shop. The police, with the help of the Pinebrook staff, reviewed surveillance footage which confirmed over $18,000 worth of property had disappeared into the ether of illicit deeds. Detectives leveraged this footage and scene evidence to kick-off what turned out to be an expansive investigation, spanning several jurisdictions, and steering them toward a suspect—identified as Brian J. Howell — with "transient addresses in Metro-Boston area," according to the Weston Police Department.
In a concerted effort with the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Revere PD, Howell was apprehended in Revere following a brief chase on foot the previous day. After the arrest, he was whisked back to Weston where he was arraigned at Waltham District Court. Howell is now in the grips of the Middlesex County House of Correction, his freedom paused for now. The charges listed include "B&E to a Building in the Nighttime for a Felony," "Larceny over $1200," and "Wanton Destruction of Property."
