A Winton Hills shooting that left one man critically injured in March has taken a fatal turn. Stefone Bellamy, 26, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, two months after the incident. The alleged assailant, Terrance Yett, faced initially charges including felonious assault and gun allegations; however, these charges have now been upgraded to murder following Bellamy's death, as reported by Local 12.
On the evening of March 29, emergency services responded to a shooting on Vivian Place. Bellamy and another individual, who survived, were shot and quickly transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The second victim's injuries were said not to be life-threatening, according to FOX19 NOW.
Yett, 19, was apprehended a little over a week post the shooting and has been in custody since April. After Bellamy's recent passing, the Cincinnati Police Department has confirmed the escalation of charges to murder. Surveillance footage of the violent episode showcases at least two assailants discharging more than a dozen rounds, as witnesses reported hearing rapid gunfire that harrowing day.
In the chaotic sequence captured on video, Bellamy is seen falling to the ground after being hit in the neck. The footage also depicts a gunman chasing and subsequently shooting the second victim in the arm as he attempts to flee the scene. In total, the Cincinnati Police Department recovered 15 bullet casings from the location of the shooting, as detailed by FOX19 NOW. This incident adds another chapter to the ongoing narrative of gun violence affecting communities across the nation.
