The City of Yukon has announced its sanitation schedule for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, and if you live there, you'll want to pay attention to the changes. According to a recent update, all City of Yukon offices will be closed on July 4, in honor of the national holiday, impacting trash collection and other services.
For residents who typically have their trash picked up on Thursday, the service will be pushed to the following July 7. This means you'll need to keep your bins at bay for a few extra days, make sure not to miss the rescheduled pickup time, especially if you've got a barbecue planned and anticipate having more trash than usual.
This holiday closure also extends to the Transfer Station and Recycle Center, which will not be open on July 4. The facility is set to reopen the next day July 5, at its usual time of 10:00 a.m., so sort your recyclables and plan any dump runs accordingly.
These changes, while seemingly small, are important facets of holiday planning that can easily slip through the cracks amidst the bustle of celebration and reflection.
