Alameda County Sheriff's Office Renews Appeal for Clues on 18th Anniversary of Marco Velasquez's Unsolved Murder

Eighteen years have passed since the untimely death of Marco Antonio Velasquez, and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office turns again to the public, seeking information that could lead to a break in this cold case. On the anniversary of his passing, authorities have reiterated their call for witnesses or anyone with knowledge to come forward, as the case remains unsolved. Velasquez, then 27, succumbed to gunshot wounds on July 1, 2007, after being attacked on A Street and Princeton Avenue in Alameda County.

Investigators remain steadfast, their pursuit of justice undeterred by the passing years, with the belief that Velasquez's death followed an altercation with two unidentified black males, one of whom is said to have wielded a firearm, discharging it and striking Velasquez twice, this scenario pieced together from fragmented tales and elusive shadows of memory. Despite the time elapsed, the Sheriff's Office aims to bring closure to Marco's family and justice to those responsible, and their resolve is echoed in their persistent appeals to the community.
