The management team of Phoenix City has a new interim deputy city manager in the persona of Amber Williamson, announced by City Manager Jeff Barton. With an impressive resume that spans a quarter-century, Williamson has worked her way up from being an administrative assistant to directing the Budget and Research Department since August 2020.
Working through multiple roles, including Budget Analyst and Management Assistant, Williamson's appointment was announced on July 21, 2025. Known for her sharp eye for detail and fiscal prudence, she has been a driving force within the city's financial planning endeavors. "Amber’s deep institutional knowledge, collaborative leadership style, and proven track record in fiscal management make her the right choice to help guide our organization forward," told Phoenix City Manager Jeff Barton.

Her educational background is as solid as her professional journey, with both a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University underscoring her competence.
