Atlanta police are currently investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on Monday, near an overpass close to I-20 and Ted Turner Drive. According to Atlanta Police Department reports, the incident took place at approximately 9:51 pm when officers arrived at the scene to find an injured male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound or a grazing bullet injury.
The victim received immediate medical attention from first responders and Grady EMS, who reported that he was alert and breathing at the time of aid. The man was quickly transported to the hospital for further treatment. Officers, having difficulty establishing a crime scene at the busy location, are still piecing together the circumstances of the assault as their investigation unfolds.
Police have not yet released details about the attacker or what led to the assault. Atlanta Police are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
