After heightened community vigilance in Atlanta, authorities carried out a major drug bust at an apartment on Huff Road NW. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, residents reported a pungent marijuana scent and unusual visitor traffic which led the Atlanta Police Department (APD) to investigate a third-floor apartment in June 2025.

The APD's Narcotics Unit conducted a series of operations between June and July, and following a judge's approval of a search warrant, seized over 14 pounds of marijuana, MDMA, psilocybin mushrooms, various prescription pills, two bottles of promethazine, and cash; the Atlanta Police haven't disclosed any details on arrests made, not even a single arrest was made public. During this time, the APD also involved the City of South Fulton’s K9 Unit, lending credence to the allegations with a narcotics detection dog signaling the presence of drugs.

WSB-TV Atlanta provided additional details about the operation at The Mill at Westside complex, specifying that the suspect activities were isolated to apartment 3302, which was searched last Tuesday. Inside, officers discovered a large quantity of controlled substances believed to be intended for street distribution. In response, authorities emphasized the message: "If you see something, say something." Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity to help keep their neighborhoods safe.
