This summer, parents have the opportunity to introduce their children to the world of tennis with the Youth Tennis Camp set to take place at Jack Russell Park. Scheduled across three weeks in July, the camp will cater to young players aged between 6 and 14, providing fun and engaging sessions tailored to various skill levels.
As reported by the City of Atlantic Beach's announcement, the camp dates are set for three consecutive weeks starting July 14 and ending on July 31. The camp is structured to break down into three age groups: Dinkers (6–8 years), Future Stars (9–11 years), and Aces (12–14 years), with each group set to have sessions on specific days of the week. Dinkers will be taking the court from Monday to Thursday at 8 AM, while the Future Stars and Aces will get to practice their serves and volleys on Tuesday and Thursday, and Monday and Wednesday, respectively, from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Located at the Jack Russell Tennis Courts 5 & 6, the camp is notably accessible with a fixed charge of $25 per week. However, those interested should act quickly, as spots are limited to just 20 campers per age group for each week. It's a chance not just to instill a love for the sport, but to also encourage healthy habits and teamwork among the youth in a safe and monitored environment. To quote the official City of Atlantic Beach's announcement, "Get your kids on the court this summer at our Youth Tennis Camp at Jack Russell Park!"
