Three men from the San Francisco Bay Area have found themselves entangled in a federal case following an armed robbery in Sweetwater, Florida, where they donned Michael Myers masks and made off with an employee, leading to a police shooting and a chase that ended with their arrest. According to NBC Miami, the suspects, identified as Aaron Brown, Ranier Landry, and Eric Chase, attempted to steal around $170,000 worth of Apple products after flying in from California specifically for the heist.

The drama unfolded last Friday morning when video evidence captured the masked trio forcing a Sweetwater business employee inside and zip-tying six workers, and threatening them with what appeared to be real guns, which were later identified as BB guns, now they face federal carjacking charges and Hobbs Act robbery. In the chaos that ensued as police sirens blared, the robbers abandoned the stolen goods, and their hopeless getaway attempt resulted in a confrontation with the police, Local 10 News reported.

Details from the federal criminal complaint revealed that the suspects were dropped off by a GMC van outside the business, where they coerced an outdoor employee into the garage area where the other victims were located. Their plan quickly fell apart when authorities arrived, leading to a shootout in which Chase sustained a leg injury. The suspects attempted to flee in a business-owned van packed with stolen electronics wrapped in a bedsheet, but the vehicle became immobile during the police chase. In an effort to evade capture, they discarded incriminating items, including a black police-style vest and one of their masks.

The incident not only resulted in the loss of valuable goods but also raised serious concerns about the security of businesses handling high-end electronics. Authorities apprehended the suspects in Medley, and they are currently being held at the Broward County Jail on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service. Chase and Landry received medical treatment following their arrests. Further tying the suspects to the crime scene was the memorable detail of "neon green underwear" sagging from Brown's pants, observed by one of the employees and confirmed by footage reviewed by the FBI.
