The City of Blaine's latest construction update details the progress and upcoming activities for multiple infrastructure projects within the city limits. Updates were provided for the Lift Station 13 Force Main project, the 2024 Southwest Area Street Reconstruction, and the 2025 Southwest Area Street Reconstruction.
According to the update posted on the City of Blaine's official website, the Lift Station 13 Force Main project on Naples Street has completed Phase 1, with only minor tasks remaining. Phase 2 is set to proceed the week of July 7 with the installation of the sanitary sewer force main. Residents should also note that Phase 3 is expected to commence on July 28, "subject to change."
The 2024 Southwest Area Street Reconstruction is currently seeing the closure of 89th Avenue between University Avenue and Jefferson Street. This will last 10 weeks, or until August 25, and detours are in place as indicated on the provided maps. Completed phases of the project include Phase 1 and Phase 2A, which are now undergoing final touch-ups. For the coming week of July 7, the update outlines that Phase 2B will advance with boulevard grading and restoration, while Phase 3 will see the installation of storm sewers.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Southwest Area Street Reconstruction, kicking off its first phase, will feature street grading activities starting the week of July 7.
