Bloomington is ready to showcase its newly minted Creative Placemaking plan, a strategy designed to bring the arts, culture, and design at the forefront of community development. Anchored by the feedback from over 4,000 residents and the leadership of local artists, the plan has an eye for creating public spaces that are vibrant, inclusive, and better connected. These spaces are set to be animated with music and events, art, and food experiences that reflect the diverse tapestry of the city.
The celebration for the new Creative Placemaking vision is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bloomington Civic Plaza's Black Box Theater, located at 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road, as reported by the city's official briefing. Planned alongside the celebratory event is an art display by Cindy Fuerstenberg in the Atrium Gallery. Hungry attendees, after browsing the exhibit, can indulge in food trucks and beer—a mini festival entitled Midweek Music & Market taking place on the Civic Plaza's lawn till 8 p.m.
For those looking to participate in the festivities or to learn more about the Creative Placemaking plan, comprehensive details are available on the city's website.
