In response to the heightened interest, the Blount County Sheriff's Office has announced a venue change for their forthcoming self-defense training aimed at women. The class, which incorporates the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) System, was originally slated for a smaller venue but has been relocated to accommodate more participants, a move prompted by the local community’s robust interest in the program.

The updated location for the RAD class is now Mary Blount Elementary School at 131 S. Old Glory Road, Maryville, providing more space for participants, according to the announcement made by the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

Classes are scheduled this coming Thursday and Friday, each session running from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, now with additional slots available for women interested in attending. Those interested can secure a spot by contacting Investigator Magahn Mattocks at (865) 223-4301 or through email at [email protected].
