Boston Police have apprehended 21-year-old Anthony Echavarria-Ramirez in connection with an armed robbery in Roxbury late last month, as detailed in a recent report by the department. The June 26 incident at Christian Convenience Store on Blue Hill Avenue involved two men, with Echavarria-Ramirez now facing multiple charges, including Masked Armed Robbery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
According to the BPD, the investigation revealed that the first suspect, later identified as Echavarria-Ramirez, brandished a firearm at a store employee after entering the store, while the second suspect jumped the counter and together they not only took cash and a cellphone, but also robbed a food delivery driver of his moped scooter earlier that same day, an arrest followed in Dorchester on July 8. Despite this development, authorities are still seeking help from the public to identify the second suspect, providing photos and a detailed description.
Echavarria-Ramirez was taken into custody by officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, with the arrest taking place without incident at an apartment on Bloomfield Street. He is slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court on serious charges, which also include Carrying a Firearm without a License and Armed Kidnapping with a Firearm.
