Boston Police are reaching out to the public for help in solving a commercial burglary that took place in Allston last week. Last Saturday, a man broke into an automotive dealership on Commonwealth Avenue and stole items including two dealer registration plates and several electric bicycles, altogether worth thousands of dollars.
The suspect, captured on surveillance footage, is described as a bald White male. The Boston Police Department released images of the individual and are asking anyone who recognizes him to come forward. He arrived at and left the dealership in a white Chevrolet Silverado, distinctively marked with a "LM" on its side, suggesting that he may be connected to a property management company.
Investigators from District D-14 (Brighton) are "actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident," according to the police department's statement. The white pickup was noted to have specific items that could lead to identifying the suspect, including a small shop vacuum and toolbox visible in the bed of the truck.
Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the District D-14 detectives at (617) 343-4256. For those preferring to remain anonymous, the department offers several ways to submit tips. Individuals can phone 1-800-494-TIPS (8477), text the word "TIP" to CRIME (27463), or submit information online through the Boston Police CrimeStoppers Website. The assurances have been given by the department that the identities of anonymous informants will be protected.
