
A bizarre altercation on Lake Lanier led to a Buford man's arrest after he allegedly knocked another man unconscious with a freezer during a confrontation. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, 42-year-old Logan Nicholas Young is facing charges after an incident that occurred on July 2 at a boat slip on Lanier Islands Parkway. Reports from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office state that Young disrobed in front of two women and the 59-year-old victim before an argument ensued.
During the argument, Young is said to have punched the victim in the chest and exited the vessel. Believing Young had left for his own houseboat, the victim and the women attempted to depart when Young reportedly reappeared and threw a deep freezer at the victim. According to a statement obtained by WSB-TV, the freezer hit the victim in his head, knocking him out and causing him to fall into the lake. The man eventually swam to shore with a large cut on his head but refused medical treatment.
Law enforcement reported difficulties in apprehending Young following the altercation. When deputies arrived at Young's houseboat in the early hours following the incident, they announced themselves multiple times to no response. Young allegedly silenced his phone and turned off his boat lights in an apparent attempt to evade the authorities. He was later discovered hiding under a bed in the boat and was arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail.
Young was released on a $13,230 bond the following Sunday and is facing a slew of charges. These include aggravated assault, simple battery, public indecency, and three counts of obstruction an officer.
