A violent altercation disrupted the usual bustle of Edmond's morning commute today when a Citylink bus driver was stabbed by a passenger. Shortly after the incident, which unfolded at the Edmond Transfer Station, authorities had the suspect in custody, reported KFOR.
The scene, arriving at which police officers discovered the wounded driver, was punctuated by urgent medical care as the victim received immediate attention. Details regarding the motive or what precipitated the attack were sparse, but the driver reportedly had tried to remove the passenger from the bus. According to a KOCO 5 report, this refusal to comply with the driver's request escalated into violence.
While the Citylink Edmond on Third Street near Broadway usually witnesses the comings and goings of daily travelers, it became a crime scene. The condition of the driver, who was promptly taken to a hospital, had not been released at the time of reporting. Meanwhile, Edmond Police Department has not disclosed information about the suspect who was taken into custody, as stated by News 9.
