The suspect, Zadarius Montgomery, 25, has been charged with the murder of his aunt, Angela Montgomery, 60, prompting an official response from multiple law enforcement agencies. According to the GBI's press release, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office received a call after midnight from Zadarius confessing to the shooting, subsequently leading to his arrest and detainment in the county jail.
The investigation convened multiple representatives from local forces; those from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, the Reynolds Police Department, and the Butler Police Department, all of whom reported to the scene at the residence in Butler where Angela Montgomery’s life came to an end, her body discovered with a suspected gunshot wound.
